Marie-Josèphe Sanson (マリー＝ジョセフ・サンソン Marī Josefu Sanson) is the younger half-sister of Charles-Henri Sanson and one of the two main characters of the series.
She was born to Charles Jean-Baptiste Sanson and Jeanne-Gabrielle Berger Sanson. She is married to Jean-Louis Sanson, and the mother of Zéro.
Appearance[]
Her looks are considered to be too unladylike as she tends to style her sun-blond hair in a buzzcut or undercut styles. Usually, having the left side of her head or both sides buzzed. She even completely shaved her hair once.
Despite her tomboyish appearance, Marie is considered a very beautiful young woman with blonde hair and piercing green eyes. She has a strong physical resemblance to her older brother Charles-Henri Sanson.
Personality[]
Along-side her beauty, Marie is bold, independent and a strong-willed woman with quite a rebellious attitude and doesn't shy away from using her beauty in order to lure her victims.
Unlike her older brother Charles, Marie always desired to become an executioner and because of it, she was learning about Anatomy, studying execution techniques and practicing dissection on animals like birds at a very young age.
Deep down, Marie is emotionally very damaged, although she hides it as much as she can. Despite her sociopathy, she genuinely loved Alain St Bernard,and was openly disgusted when Count De Luxe burned children alive. She also really loves her eldest brother, Charles-Henri, even though she doesn't say it much.
